Any hair – any colour – any style
It can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to create your bespoke hairpiece, depending on external factors such as stock levels of your desired hair colour to supplier issues (in extreme circumstances).
Yes, absolutely – and you’re not alone.

Natania, the founder of Rafaelie Wigs, personally experiences migraines and truly understands how sensitive your head can feel during or between episodes. Because of this, she has taken great care to innovate ways to make wearing a wig as gentle and comfortable as possible.

From the way your wig cap is constructed, to how the piece sits on your head, every detail can be tailored to reduce pressure and avoid triggering discomfort. Natania will work closely with you, one-on-one, to find the right solution that suits you – whether that’s a custom cap style, alternative fit, or softer materials.

You don’t have to compromise on looking and feeling your best. With understanding and expert care, we’ll help you find a beautiful hair solution that works in harmony with your needs.
Our wigmaker Natania herself suffers from migraines and has developed many ways to alleviate pain, such as removing combs and clips from her wig designs and offering adjustable wig caps.

Some people find that the pressure from a wig actually helps reduce migraine pain.
Rafaelie Wigs are designed to be treated exactly like your own hair, and comfort is key. Most people find they can more than cope with heat as long as they are comfortable, and putting up your wig with a scrunchie – or even one of our real hair scrunchies – will keep you cool and fresh on hot days.
With the right care, your wig can last for years.

At Rafaelie Wigs, we believe that looking after your wig properly is the key to long-lasting beauty and performance. When your wig is gently washed, styled in a way that protects the hair, and stored correctly to preserve the cap and structure, it can truly stand the test of time.

To help you get the most out of your wig, we recommend coming in for a Rafaelie MOT once a year. This gives us the chance to check the condition of the hair, cap, and fit – and make any tweaks or repairs that will keep it looking and feeling its best.

Your wig is an investment, and with a little ongoing care and support, it can serve you beautifully for years to come.
With a little regular care, your wig will stay looking beautiful and last for years.

Here’s what we recommend to help you keep your wig in the best possible condition:

Wash your wig every 6–12 weeks depending on how often you wear it. Regular washing keeps the hair fresh and healthy, and gives us a chance to check for any shedding or wear.

Come in for your annual Rafaelie MOT. This is a full check-up for your wig – we assess the hair, cap, fit, and overall condition. We’ll also fill in any areas of hair loss, especially important for lace tops which tend to shed faster than skin tops.

Be mindful of colour changes. All our wigs are made from natural hair, which means they will gradually lighten over time due to sun exposure (a natural process called oxidation).

Blonde wigs usually need to be re-dyed once or even twice a year.

Brunette and auburn wigs typically need re-dyeing every two to three years.

Store your wig properly. Always place your wig on a polystyrene wig head and keep it inside a cupboard when not in use. This helps preserve the shape and structure of the cap and protects the hair from dust and sunlight.

Looking after your wig doesn’t need to be complicated – and we’re here to help every step of the way. With regular care and our support, your wig can continue to feel as wonderful as the first
This varies from person to person and often depends on lifestyle and wig cut. If you have a fringe that’s touching your skin, or if you do a lot of cooking in your wig, it may need washing every 4 – 6 weeks. The average is every 12 weeks, but some wigs may only need washing twice a year, especially if the hair is held away from your face with a headband.

Curly wigs can be maintained between washes by treating them as if they are your own natural hair – spritz them with water every morning and use curly hair products. If you use a lot of products in your wig, it may need washing slightly more frequently.
Yes, absolutely! Travelling with your wig is totally doable with just a little preparation.

We offer the option of purchasing a Rafaelie travel wig box (see our Products page for details), which is specially designed to keep your wig safe and secure while you're on the move. Alternatively, you can pack it carefully in a clean shoe box for short trips.

Always pack your wig in your carry-on luggage – this ensures it's protected and stays with you at all times during your journey.

For convenience at your destination, we recommend bringing a collapsible wig head so you can store your wig safely and maintain its shape wherever you are.

With these simple tips, your wig can travel just as well as you do!
