R first came to see Natania during a brief respite from the Covid lockdowns in 2020. In her final year of primary school, R was grappling with the challenges of genetically-linked alopecia, desperate to avoid starting high school with a bald head. She made the journey from Birmingham with her mum, dad, and younger brother—truly a family affair.

A confident and quirky young woman, R wasn’t interested in blending into the crowd. Instead, she chose a vibrant dip-dye color for her full, fringed wig. Natania carefully crafted the look, selecting a skin-top wig that gave the appearance of a thick head of hair. She even sewed in a velvet band to ensure it stayed firmly in place, knowing that R was an active sports enthusiast and karate student.

Natania added some highlights as a finishing touch, and R returned to the salon with her mum during the summer holidays to collect her new hairpiece before starting her high school journey. Since then, she has come back for a few touch-ups, and she’s still as thrilled with her hair now as she was on the day she first received it.
